Target Audience

My target audience for this blog will be students who are budget-conscious like me. I’m paying my own way through college with some help from financial aid. My grants and loans cover my tuition and fees but I have to pay for my day-to-day living expenses and bills. I’m always looking for bargains and different ways to save money. I know that I’m not the only student out there who has to watch every penny. Saving money is something that everyone can relate to, especially with the current state of the economy.

I want to write stories that will go beyond the usual “use coupons and buy things on sale!” advice. I’ve worked in banking for years; I’m not a financial expert by any means but I’ve learned some interesting tips along the way. I’ve also learned that there are people out there who need advice about basic banking principles like balancing a checkbook and avoiding service fees. I take it for granted that my parents helped me open a checking account when I got my first job.

I would like to interview people who can offer advice that I’ve never heard before, and people have found unusual jobs or creative ways to supplement their income. Sure, there are plenty of job listings on the Internet but how many are legitimate? How can you avoid becoming a scam victim? Those are the questions I’d like to answer.
